No-Salt Added Taco Seasoning Mix
All the Flavor, None of the Sodium
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon chili powder (ancho chili powder works great)
- 1 tablespoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika (or smoked paprika for extra flavor)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric (optional, for color and subtle flavor)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (add more for more heat if desired)
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Instructions:
- Mix all ingredients together in a small bowl or jar.
- Store the taco seasoning in an airtight container (a small jar or spice bottle works well) for up to 6 months.
- Use approximately 2-3 tablespoons of this seasoning mix for 1 lb of ground meat or chicken (adjust to taste).
Tips:
- Adjust spice level: Feel free to increase or decrease the cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to suit your preferred spice level.
- For added depth: You can add a pinch of ground coriander or cocoa powder for an earthy, rich flavor if you’d like.
This mix adds all the flavor without the sodium!
